Smile Going to a treatment center..........

I'm going to a treatment on Friday is confirm I'm a little skittish about.
Don't not exactly why. Maybe the idea of not see my kids or my granddaughter
But I know at the end it will be a good experience. It will like a vacation no worries about anybody but me.
And that is scary for me I don't remember the last time that I done that.
Some news I got 22 days sober and 29 no drugs.

Congratulations on your sober/clean time and I understand the worries about treatment. I've never been through it, but from what I've read here, soak up all you can, put recovery as your priority, and the rest will fall into place.

It takes time, the real test is when you're back in the "real world" but for those who have soaked up all they learned in treatment? I've heard really good stuff

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

Congratulations! I went to a rehab center in March. I arrived on day 21 no alcohol. That gives you an advantage I think........not spending days in detox and trying to learn how to get thru the fog etc.

Yes, it is a time to focus on YOU and recovery. It was a really good 28 days for me. (was planning on their standard 30 but insurance wouldn't cover past 28). Anyway......dig deep, know that it is the best thing for YOU, which helps you be a good wife, mom, grandson, friend etc. I left a husband, 16 year old and 18 year old at home. Even though I ssed some moments, in the long run, our moments are so much better now.

Good for you!

Make sure you bring lots of notebooks and pens, Slippers, sweat pants and sweatshirts. A couple pictures of your loved ones. It's cold in there!
Change for coke machine.

So happy for you! I am a veteran of treatment centers.

Any questions only to happy to help.

Congrats on deciding to make this huge change. Its so normal to be scared and anxious about starting a whole new journey in your life. Most beginnings are scary, but its the only way to get to where you want to be. Im proud of you for going and I promise, you will get so much confidence out of it. With challenges come confidence, so go there, do your best, and be proud you are taking control. Booya!!!

In November of last year, a few weeks after my birthday I volunteered to go to de-tox, then to a women's sober living. A first for me at age 55. So much I could write, the experiences at both places changed my life :- D . I don't even know you and yet I'm very happy for you and the new journey you're beginning. I'd suggest listening, taking direction, and be "selfish". Congratulations!
