Sounds like you need a different plan to get sober.

Do you have face to face support? A new plan sounds like a great plan!

in the harsh light of day, was it really that FUN? fun shouldn't hurt the next day, fun shouldn't fill us with anxiety. fun shouldn't fill us with remorse.

Yeah, I'd stop referring to it as fun, even as a euphemism. I'm talking to myself here, too, I make the same mistake.

When this happened to me I used it to learn from it and just tried again. No sense to beat oneself up over the past. It helped me to identify triggers and causes.

Hi Doogie!

I used to try and get sober on my own too. It was pure pain at all hours. White-knuckling.

Then I tried AA (which, at the time, I thought seemed stupid and lame) and it totally changed my life. I totally have bad days now too, but 75-80% of the time things are actually quite good. And, I haven't woken up with a hangover and the accompanying anxiety for over 6 months now.

If you haven't already, give it a try.

I think it's fine to use the word fun because sometimes my drinking was fun if it was not fun I would have got hooked on something else. The next mornings and consequences are defiantly not fun, the look of hurt on the people I loves faces when I trample all over them with no regard for there feelings is not fun. I had many 15 day failures. Pick yourself up and don't give up on sobriety because you are worth it. God bless

You don't need to say anything. Just go and listen.

You weren't too shy for that .......

I don't think your shy, I think you're scared. I was.... but AA worked for me.

All the best.
