I didn't drink

I've just got home from my friends funeral and I made it though the day without drinking. My cravings were sky high this morning with a desire to numb myself for the day ahead. That's my usual 'mature' way of dealing with any emotional issues!!

But I didn't touch a drop and although the day is still young (it's only 5pm here), I feel confident that I'll get through this day sober. And then there's tomorrow but I'll deal with that when it comes.

Great job on getting through this sober. I'm sorry for your loss but staying sober is a nice tribute to them.

Nice work TM. Sorry to hear about your loss. It's one more notch in your belt and i'm guessing your friend would also be very proud that you are able to avoid drinking to keep your health and life alcohol free.

I'm sorry for your loss...

I'm sure your feeling blue but just imagine if you had drank, you'd probably be crying into an empty bottle right now, and tomorrow all that raw emotion would feel ten times worse, plus you'd feel hungover and full of regret.... especially as I think you said your friend died from alcohol abuse.

Take care, and you know where we are!
