I completely agree!
Why do now what you can (take a few pills and) put off till later? Rinse and repeat. I did that for years.

I'm doing okay.... could be better. My physical withdrawals aren't too bad right now... .but I've been doing a lot of backpedal type thinking and thinking about where I'd be if I didn't pick up my last Rx.

I know that it's not good to do, but I have to make sure that I don't do this to myself again. I was so sure that the last time was the last and it wasn't. I need to make this my last time.

Let's add further to the list.

lying,
cheating,
stealing,
manipulating,
mastering denial,

just being an all around undesireable scumbag.

Anyone else?

Don't forget everything you'll eventually lose: friends, family, trust of bosses, car, house, money, kids, etc. It sucks that so many alkies fall into this category when they have surgeries. We need to be extra careful to avoid it at all costs. Some surgeries are unavoidable but if you give someone you trust your medicine to be taken as prescribed, go to mtgs whenever possible, DON'T drive (I found out the hard way), talk to your sponsor & other alkies, as much as possible, you can be o.k.
