My first semester without him...
I just finished my first semester of college in three years without him. From community college to now being a senior next year in a university, when I met him, I had a 4.0 GPA that dropped to a 2.08 from all the chaos and crying and my insanity. Well, I managed to get all A's this semester, my GPA is back up to a 3.5 (all while he left me again to relapse two days before classes started). And, I was able to do my internship, which I never could have done if he and I were together. I miss him, but I'm still doing NC because I refuse to have my hopes gotten up, just to be dropped again. I haven't seen him in meetings, so I know whats up. I think about him every day, I rant about him to friends, etc., but I know this is a grieving process and one day it'll be better. I do miss his not coming to school with me, though. We used to have such fun. And Springtime. But I put on my fake smile and tell everyone I'm fine. Thanks for letting me share. :-)

Good for you. It's amazing how calm things become when the addict isn't around, huh?
Keep going. You're almost there.

Hey terry,
Through my 18 month relationship with my exbf I never let what was going on between us affect my education, in fact he used to help me with some of my classes for which I am grateful. A very wise man whom I know once told me men will come and go but your education will be yours forever and that the key to a very successful future.

It was the "everythings fine" to the abrupt "hes relapsed during finals" that would screw me all up. Yes, school is easier without the chaos. I miss him, but my life isnt insane. Which is nice.
