some people give up
some people give up
theres this guy who was known for being addicted to prescription pills . he lived just down the road from me. he decided to end his life tonight.
it bothers me so much . a lot of people around here are always giving up. its become just a big a problem as the drugs here.
My own cousin ended her life in January. she was also an addiction
Ive lost a lot of friends and family because of addiction. I feel so bad for the family going through such a hard time right now. People are posting it on facebook before family members even found out about it.
he was such a good guy too. he wasnt always so messed up.
all i can do now is pray for him and hes family. such a sad day.
dont give up people.

Aww, Stash, so sorry that this was such a day of sadness on top of other recent losses. Addiction sucks and often takes the best and kindest of us. Unfortunately it doesn't seem selective like that.
It's a good reminder of how precious life is, though, even with all its tragedy. And how important sobriety is for us fellow addicts.
Big hugs and warm wishes to you tonight.

I am sorry to hear of another loss in your life, Stash. It is unfortunately the nature of addiction and it is hard clawing your way out of its grip. I too have lost family members to this disease and know the heartbreak that friends and family have to endure. Know that we are here for you!
Very sorry for your loss... not 7 days ago, I was seriously considering overdosing on xanax and whiskey. I just ended up so messed up i had no idea what was going on. Kept it up the next four, and almost succeeded. I was so depressed that sobriety felt like it was not even an option. I was very fortunate to be saved at the right time. I almost lost my mother to scrip od's about 4 thousand times- many as a child and teen. None of us know how she always pulled through. She should have died. I have lost friends to addiction. Sometimes, when left to your own devices, your mind is a dark, scary dungeon. And for some messed up reason, the only way out and up to the light shining through the crack of your cell is to take your life. I felt this many times, both as an adult and adolescent. It's just a sad thing when support isn't sought, or seems to do nothing for the person. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Glad you are still alive Dogdaysareover. My life was spared as well one month ago today. I'm lucky to be alive. We are alive for a reason!!! Now we have an obligation to live in a proper manner I think!! With support of course. I am sober today and just imagine the people that I would have left behind.. Sorry again Stash

I'm sorry for your loss, Stash. Unfortunately, my cousin ended her life not too long ago, as well. I can't imagine the hell she must have been going through to make that decision, but I do know how difficult it has been for her loved ones.
