TGIF all. As I enter day 21 and heading into weekend #4, beer free, I am pondering why I enjoyed drinking so much. I realize that I hate the taste of hard alcohol, and the taste of beer is okay, but really I could take it or leave it, so it isn't taste. So I had to dig deeper and found that I liked the way I felt with a beer buzz and that is all it was ever about....feelings. And now digging deeper, I realize that my beer-induced "feelings" were just feelings, and not remotely "facts."

Beer-Induced Feeling/ Sober Fact

I'm stress free/ I had the same stress as before & more was
added due to hangover, big-mouth, etc.

I'm a skinny supermodel/ I'm a 190 pound 5'4" lady

I'm a comedian/ I'm sure people laughed at me-not with me

I have no cares/ I have plenty of cares which is normal

Life is more interesting/ Life was actaully more boring while drinking

I like facts. Feelings are wonderful too, but they don't change facts. My life is better sober.............that's a fact.

Life is definately better sober. I'm a better mother. My daughter knows that everytime she calls me I will be sober and able to help her and we have a better relationship as a result of that not to mention the weight loss from putting down the drink.
