Hello everybody
Hi,
Just found this brilliant site after searching for "itching after detox"
My name is Mandy (Maddie) I'm 48, married with 2 daughters and 2 young grandchildren and I live in the U.K.
I have always been a social drinker, but about 10 years ago, I started drinking heavily and became alcohol dependent. Finally in Nov 2011 I was told to pack in drinking or die within 12 months. I went in for a detox in Dec '11, attended groups and had lots of support, and I have been sober ever since!!
Currently I am helping my hubby through it.............he carried on drinking and recently started to suffer seizures, he has just come out of detox and is in his second week of recovery.
That's the background on me and the reason for joining this brilliant site, I look forward to "meeting" all you lovely people.

Firstly congratulations on your sobriety, 1 year plus is a phenomenal achievement!
