Smile my first post

i'm a little nervous since it has only been a week that i have been
sober. I made it through the week-end and did have some trying times. This is my third time of trying to stay sober. I've been in treatment twice and i no pretty much now what I need to do. I guess I just need to be reminded. and of course, i love the encourgagement.

When you were in treatment how long was
each of your stays? For me, i stayed in rehab
for 28 days followed up with a 6 week out-
patiant aftercare program. From there, I took
those tools and knowledge of a recovery
program and began incorperating them in
my everyday life.

That was 22 yrs ago of many one days at
a time added together to get me where I
am today. It was the beginning of my journey
in recovery, learning from many who learned
themselves how to stay sober just by sharing
their own experiences, strengths and hopes of
what it was like before, during and after their
drinking careers.

Today I continue on my journey never forgeting
where I came from and what brought me into
recovery. All that ive learned over the yrs. I
pass them on to those struggling with addiction
just so i can stay sober another day and enjoy
the gifts of the promises given to us in recovery.

So can you.
