Happy One Year Anniversary to MEEE!
Yup! One year!!!
Well, one year and a few days.
Weird how it seems like yesterday and it seems like forever ago at the same time.
Can't believe how much better my life is off of oxys.
Still thinking about it makes me angry that doctors prescribe it so freely.
Don't get me wrong - I take FULL responsibility for using it when I didn't need it for pain relief. Just saying that I wish I was warned, is all.
But it's in the past, and I'm wiser for the experience, and thank God (literally) for the lessons I've learned. I don't crave it anymore and go weeks if not months without even thinking about that period of time in my life. Maybe if I wasn't so busy I might, but maybe not.
I wasn't completely devastated by it, but was surely on my way.
And I wanted to say to anyone struggling with oxy addiction, if I can do it, you can, too.
The grass remains greener, the sky bluer, and life is so much brighter.

My secret is one probably shared by many here: I realized there was a problem and didn't see oxys in my future. It was hard at first. VERY hard. Like walking through the desert and finally coming upon water.
