Dont get mad at me for the titile... i really did but.....

I used to live in another state. A small big city that allowed me to walk from my apartment to all the bars. There were a lot of them.

With my rosé colored glasses sitting squarely on my nose I was considering a trip back to see old friends and enjoy the city. It is a port city and very beautiful with great eating out.

I had the bright idea yesterday to use google street view to essentially walk from my apartment to each of the bars.

If you have never used it the site allows you to see the street and can look around as you move in any one direction.

I went virtual bar hoping! Yikes!

The emotions and triggers and sadly..... Mouth watering memories.... still excited me despite it being the place of my demise.

The best thing I could have done!!!!!!

Really, we have made the transition from bar hopping to bar hoping though. We're hoping for better days due to the commitment to remain sober and it's working. So here's to bar hoping

All kidding aside.... Google street view of the bars Made me feel a lot of things and none was I wanted to go back. Memories of the events but in a way I was happy I was not there any more. And never will be again.

I have mainly been to bars for concerts (and when I say "bar" I mean that they were concert venues that served alcohol), but otherwise I've never met anyone in a bar who I established a friendship with.

As Dana Carvey said in his impersonation of George Bush Sr., "Not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent at this juncture."
