Sister of an alcoholic
Help my brother has now admitted to being an alcoholic. He has not had a drink since Friday night..have spoken to him loads on the telephone ( we live 250 miles apart) he is hallucinating big time & trying detox on his own...I am really worried about him as when I call him he seems to talk only nonsense & says he is in the company of our friends or brother when they are not there..he has also said he is having cans of lager but I now do not know what to believe, as I am not sure what is in his head & what is real...any help on how to handle this situation would be much appreciated..
He has my mum & her partner close by but he refused to go to their house tonight..& at the moment is refusing to go to hospital or the doctors..I know there are loads of side effects trying to detox at home & I am just really worried about him...Help!!!

If you are concerned, could you call emergency services in his area? Would your mom or his partner go check on him? That would seem like some logical things to consider. Good luck.

Thanks for our reply, I really don't think he would thank me for calling the emergency services...he is quite stubborn...
I know he should be on medication from the doctor & vitamins etc..he also has really bad asthma to top it all...he thinks he can do this n his own but he has o idea what he is letting himself in for... :-(
