My first post
Hello,
My name is John S. from Cape Cod, MA. I am so glad to be a part of this Sober Recovery site. I look forward to the blogs and chats. I have never incorperated a web site in my recovery before. They same nothing changes if you don't make changes. I have bounced in and out of AA for 20+ years, so obviously I need to change everything to succeed and have long term sobriety. I now attend AA daily and also participate in an IOP Gosnold program in my town. I'm lucky that all of this is within five mile of my house. Some of my problems with previous attempts of sobriety are the fact that I never used a sponsor or joined a group. I will now consider this site as a group for me. I am also in the process of joining one of my local groups and am seeking a sponsor.
I have been sober for tweenty days now and love the feeling of being sober and making new friends in this community. I moved to this part of the cape less than a year ago. So I'm not around all of my old friends and the triggers.
Again, I'm so glad I found this site and hope to find new friends here as well.
Thanx to all,
Sailboy John

Good luck sailboy. Some of my best days were sober in Barnstable MA on the cape, bike riding, sailing, enjoying life. Be grateful you are where you are. I miss it terribly. You have a true gift. Embrace it.
