just finished my 5th step with my sponsor
For the first time, I am beginning to feel some relief. I am beginning to not hate myself anymore.
I don't have to drink again, I don't have to live that way anymore.
So grateful for my sponsor, an amazing man who lives in the solution everyday, He's really helping me re-connect with my faith and spirituality.
I also did step 6 with him, and he wants me to stay on step 7 for a month, and say the step 7 prayer everyday. Sounds good to me, he hasn't steered me wrong yet!
Have a great day everyone,
SD

Hazzah! Wonderful to hear!
The relief of having someone know you all, and I mean all, is frightening at first, but the sigh that comes after is beyond description, unless you've been there. I am so very happy to hear that.
Nonentheless, you are finding the freedom, not just relief, with the steps.
I wish you the best - thanks for sharing. Made my day!

Congrats , the steps are the most important thing in getting and remaining to sobriety..
Here's a couple reads I thought you may enjoy.
Step 6 | the 12 steps
Keep going and growing.

Thanks for your support and replies everyone.
I also feel like I am part of the fellowship now. Up until this last week or so, I sort of still felt like an outsider (I have 150 days today, a miracle, for sure, but I'm still a newcomer).
I'm just going to keep doing what I've been doing, it's been such a wonderful experience so far, and I'm looking forward to growing in sobriety and growing spiritually.
thanks again guys,
SD

If you havent read steps 6 and 7 in the 12x12, I highly recommend doing so.
I dont like to use that book as an instruction book for the steps, but Bill wrote some great stuff about humility in those two chapters. Definitely worth the read.
