So... I am on day 8 of not using. I have been reading through other posts and I see a lot of the same, you must have the ability to quit for yourself and no one else. While I believe this to be true, I also know that while I have decided to be clean and sober for ME, I also have my children in my mind the entire time.

This is my 3rd go at sobriety, and I am believing that 3rd times a charm. I have been to a NA meeting everyday since deciding to get clean and I will continue to go until I believe I have the strength and the will to do this on my own, along with my Higher Power. Even then I will still be at my home meeting every week!

The past two times I have tried to get clean, I honestly didn't want to. It's different this time, I have tired of the life of being high. It no longer appeals to me.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or stories of how other addicts got through their first couple weeks.

JUST FOR TODAY!!! I am going to stay clean!

Well done on 8 days! Now just do it again I really believe that if you can stay sober for one day then you can do it forever. Keep up the good work x
