It is 8AM and I am getting up and getting going. It's going to be another great day in Florida (sorry all my northern birds) so I'm about to get up and get going and enjoy the day.

I spent most of the day at the car dealership yesterday, I wanted to refinance my car that I bought last year and ended up with a 2013, no miles, lower payment and a car loan paid off that will help my credit record as well.

Can I also say, that for me, having commitments also keep me on track. When I bought my car last year, you know what my first thought was? "What if I relapse?" And that right there answered my question, "get the car Vegi, that's going to keep you accountable and responsible", and it is. My son, my bills, my school, my car, my job, all of these things and more are way too important than ruining my life with alcohol.

Anyway, hope you all have a WONDERFUL DAY!!!!

Good morning all! Only 10 degrees here in NY this morning, but I don't care. I made it to Day14! It's going to be a wonderful day no matter what comes my way!

YAY!!! to both of you too!!

It will come Knew, it's hard in the beginning because you're dealing with a lot of different feelings. I don't know if it would work for you, but looking at things that you can be grateful for helps me. Just a thought, hang in there, it gets better, I PROMISE!

20 degrees and snow on the ground here/ugh. Thanks for rubbing in the warm weather, ha ha.
I need commitments to quit as well. 2 months ago my young daughter told a friend that "Daddy only drinks beer and coffee." That made me sad. I had been drinking coffee for 20 years. That made me quit coffee immediately that day. My child is really important to me.
Been unable to apply this to quitting drinking though. Have been drinking for over 30 years and now it is a daily addiction. It affects my relationships, my employment and my health. I quit taking my BP medication about a year ago and checked it the other day and it was 180-113. Time for a change.
I stopped coffee immediately. Today I pray I stop drinking.
Going to do this for my daughter. You inspired me.

ABIDE, if not for you, she is a great reason, my kids are definitely what motivated me when I first got sober and I hated myself so much that they were what kept me focused. You can do it! She's worth it, but so are you.

Thanks Weasel! I have nothing to not be happy about, and I am doing my best to stay strong, focused and remember that I need to keep doing the right thing. I was sober for so long, I know better. I'm happy to be here, have lot's to be grateful for and I'd be a total jerk to throw it all away.

Thanks for your words. My credit is one thing that I really want to improve that I was never able to as a drinker. It's not terrible credit, but it isn't attractive, either.

I am grateful to report I made it through last night without drinking, and I was even around my brothers who were drinking beer heavily and offering me beer. It was difficult, but I made it!

Lovin this thread. Way to go! Accountability helps keep me sober too. That just made me remember it's car payment day....thanful for that online option!
