Unhappy Dragging myself through first month!

Hi all, as the title suggests I'm on day 25 of my first sober month. Really finding it a struggle the past few days. Really trying to focus on why I have stopped drinking but then life seems a bit dull. HELP.....

I slept through my first month. Sometimes I think it is more about just getting through it in the beginning no matter what. Once you have a few months into sobriety, things won't seem so dull. Do you have hobbies? I got into exercise. Particularly running when I was bored. I also have been practicing my guitar at night when my normal drinking time was.

Welcome to SR Dayoneagain

I definitely found the first month the hardest. Time seemed to go so slow! I tried to waste as much time as possible going on long walks and reading magazines. Take it easy on yourself. It gets easier x

I understand. By the time I got to the end of the first month the 'novelty' was wearing off and the normal, mundane problems of life were very prominent without the numbing of alcohol to 'help' me. Emotionally it was difficult but it gets better. I'm on day 47 now and just this week I've felt a shift in my thinking and feeling and I feel much much better emotionally and mentally. Stick with it,it really does improve

Readyatlast- thank you for that. It's been a tough couple of days as I've been nursing sick child! Housebound and knackered not a good combo. Will keep going as I don't want to go back! Ta everyone.
