Big Step Today

So tonight my wife and I went out for dinner for our 6th wedding anniversary which was this last Sunday. We were given a gift card for a very nice restaurant that I have wanted to go to for 15 years but could never afford to go to. Just got home and I would like to let you all know that I did not order a drink. I had been having an argument with myself about whether or not to order a glass of wine but I prayed about it and stood strong. Really happy right now.

Sdg,
Great!!That was and is a hard thing for me..going to a nice restaurant and not having a glass of wine..something about that..but it wasn't gonna stop with that glass or the next one.
Stay strong its getting easier for me and it will for you the longer you practice.

Congratulations!

I'm sure your wife really enjoyed celebrating your anniversary without alcohol.

I call that a big WIN!!

Thanks everyone, it was a wonderful night and the load off my shoulders from the anxiety leading up to it is huge.

In 18 anniversaries, I don't think I was sober except for the last few. It's a wonderful thing to share with your wife...and to remember it after too is a great thing! Here's to many more!

Nice job! Remember the strength you had in the moment and the pride you have in yourself right now. Remember this feeling! It will serve you well!
