This years snow storm

Hi Friends!
I am having a "you are here" moment on the map of my life.

It's snowing, cars are sliding everywhere, it's inhumanly cold outside.

How I normally prepare for being snowed in does not include getting milk, bread, and toilet paper. It is a fifth of whiskey, 2 or 3 bottles of wine, and a 12 pack of beer just in case I run out of everything and have an alcohol emergency.

I have no booze in my house today. I am totally cool about it. What a change I have gone through these past couple months. I can't believe I am here.

Thank you Sober Recovery and Thank you God!!!! I love you all and I love where I am. You guys are with me every day. God Bless every one of you!

Soberiety is a totally awesome way of
life no matter what weather we go thru.

Because I live down here in the South,
we don't get to experience the beauty
of white Winters with snow. However,
from time to time, we do get that Northern
coldness, like we are now, but not cold
enough for snow. Which happens every
once in a while, then we all go crazy ...lol

I can watch the beautiful sights on TWC
of all the snow that is falling right now
up north and it looks absolutely beautiful.

And with sober vision, seeing snow or experiencing
it is an absolute gift. White Winter Gift..!!

Stay strong and sober for more awesome
gifts to come your way.

I was just sitting here thinking, how blessed I am. We are not experiencing as much snow here in NJ, But It's cold, rain/snow all day and I am in for the day. Practicing my graditude list is a must for my recovery. Otherwise, I can, on autopilot, get myself into a selfpity slump. Today I am in control of my thoughts and feelings. I had to learn to be awear of this. What an amazing discovery . Thank you for sharing your moment!

No "alcohol emergencies" happening around here, either!

In the NW Northwest, we had a dusting of snow last week and a few flakes on Christmas. It's back to drizzle now, but there's snow on the hills and Mount Baker has 136" base.

I promise to get outside and enjoy nature today (still drinking coffee now!)
