First time seeking help - Alcohol Recovery Centers
Hi everyone,
I'm a 29 year old male looking to treat my alcoholism via a 1~2 month inpatient or residential treatment, and I would like some advice from those of you who have experienced treatment centers.
I am what some seem to call a functional alcoholic, meaning that I am working and living a somewhat normal life other than my drinking. I've been a heavy drinker for over 10 years now.
I've done a fair amount of research and have decided to sign into either HAZELDEN or BETTY FORD. There are some conflicting opinions that I have heard;
- Both programs are the same, go to Hazelden during Summer, and Betty Ford during Winter..
- Hazelden employees are less burned out than Betty Ford, and therefore the care is better
I had been leaning toward Hazelden despite the fact that it will be extremely cold in January-February, but I would very much appreciate your input.
