How bad and the shakes? Do you need to get medical attention?

((keften)) - I don't know your history, but do think getting checked out by a dr. is a good thing.

Congrats on day 1!

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

I agree seeing a Dr is a great idea. It's best to put your mind at ease and be safe

Keften - I'm so glad to see you sharing these thoughts. It helps take the sting out of it, knowing others understand. We've all been there and get what you're going through.

Each day you'll feel a little better - you have so much to look forward to. A sober, healthy life where you're in control. No more being ruled by your addiction. Keep talking to us. It helps, and we do care.

Please be aware that seizures and high blood pressure can occur to us when we stop drinking abruptly

Hi Keften
Look after yourself and all the best with quitting. Doesn't it feel amazing the next morning when you wake up clear headed and liking yourself. You're doing the right thing.
Some things I found helpful for getting through the craving for alcohol:
- take five deep breaths, concentrating on them
- don't let yourself get too hungry or tired
- recognise the danger times of the day and substitute exercise or something you enjoy
- go for a walk, weather permitting

Hope one or two of these are helpful.

I have almost one month sober. It's been rough. It seems like your doing well though, which is good. I unfortunately had to go to doctors, due to very severe insomnia and anxiety attacks. Also I was very sick for 4 days after I stopped drinking. Now almost a month sober, I'm looking at things differently and still fighting anxiety but moving forward.my best wishes to you and I hope everything turns around for you. I have a 5 year old home with the flu right now, so he is on my mind to keep him well and myself healthy, just to be able to be here for him is an awesome feeling. I'm sure you can reciprocate that.
