Now I get it...

I have always understood that RR AVRT did not require support groups and the whole recoverism process in order to stop drinking. In the beginning I was looking for an active support thread as I was trying to learn everything I could. Now I realize why this forum is seemingly inactive.

There in lies the simplicity and the beauty of RR and AVRT. IMHO

AVRT is simply a logical construct, nothing more. It requires only one leap of faith, one simple assumption, and that is 'I have the power to quit drinking'. That assumption can create reality by its own nature and content. Everything else, The Big Plan, the AV recognition that is focused by the BP , the separation from The Beast/Parasite, the acceptance of or indifference to its pleading, and ultimately sobriety, all follow from there.

I have always seen beauty in little logical sculptures (like the proof that the square root of two is not a fraction, for e.g.), and I was awestruck when I understood the beauty and simplicity of RR. I was even more excited when I understood that all I needed to do to get and stay sober was to simply believe in myself. Success is simply, totally, and absolutely guaranteed. I believe in my ability to never drink again = permanent, secure, unconditional sobriety, and recognition of the AV is how to do it.

I really feel inadequate though in my ability to express this convincingly, but that will never stop me from trying. Fortunately we have the AVRT discussion thread, all 2200 posts of it, moderated and enlightened by someone to whom I owe much of what I am today. Thanks, AVRT / Terminally Unique. I'll keep flying that informed consent flag of yours on your behalf. Best to you.

Where is Terminally Unique? He also helped me back a few months ago, but I was not ready at the time? Haven't seen him since I came back.
