You know you are working the AA program when _______

When you have multiple copies of the big book around the house (and vehicle) for quick reference. Even a copy of the first 164 for bathroom reading.

Yup! The stories are great but the first 164 are the meat and potatos.

...someone looks into your eyes and says, "you look too peaceful, what have you done?"

That was a good day, one I wish I had on video or something.

Awesome!! I had my sponsor say somethin like that to me. I almost got defensive, thinking he was asking if I was f'd up. But no, he was just saying I seem happy. Still working on taking compliments better.

...when my sponsor says to me "the man you work with next is a lucky guy"...brought a tear to my eye. He had taught me well by demonstration.

Can't say if my sponsees feel that way, but I know I feel better working with them!

My grandsponsor taught me the least selfish prayer of all is "use me." :-)

here is one way i know im workin the program:
And we have ceased fighting anything or anyone - even alcohol. For by this time sanity will have returned. We will seldom be interested in liquor. If tempted, we recoil from it as from a hot flame. We react sanely and normally, and we will find that this has happened automatically. We will see that our new attitude toward liquor has been given us without any thought or effort on our part. It just comes! That is the miracle of it. We are not fighting it, neither are we avoiding temptation. We feel as though we had been placed in a position of neutrality - safe and protected. We have not even sworn off. Instead, the problem has been removed. It does not exist for us. We are neither cocky nor are we afraid. That is our experience. That is how we react so long as we keep in fit spiritual condition.

You know you're working the program when you realise you have to give in order to receive.

Fears, cravings, compulsions, and some other behaviors have disappeared and even though life isn't where I want it, all is well with the world and I have peace and serenity when life happens. I can look people in the eye today.....

and I am sober today......continuously......for over 18 months now......

miracles DO happen

Contentment is the way I see it. Serenity has been a term and feeling that has eluded me for quite a long time.

I know I'm right where I'm supposed to be in my program when I can read all the posts above and think "Right on !!"

All the best.
