Codine

Hi I am Ellie from the UK,

I have been addicted to codine for 2 years now, am currently trying my best to get off it?
Has anyone got any experience of this....how long it takes to get clear.

My head and body ache and I am so tired and snappy,

would love to talk to someone who broke free.

Welcome! I myself have no experience getting off codeine and know next to nothing about it. But you have come to a great place and there are great people here as well as access to recources/links...there are some great groups and I have found it a wonderful support. Keep posting! It has helped me...

Good for you for wanting to get off codeine. We all know how hard it can be to break an addiction, but you'll be SO glad you did! You'll find lots of support here and in the forum that Dee mentioned.... it was reaching out for support that finally helped me turn my life around.

Well I broke free from Vic and Oxy, generally the same thing. If you wish to talk I could give you my experiences and advice.

Hi Ellie. I'm new on here as well and I'm also trying to kick the codeine after 15 plus years. I can't spend a lot of time on here today but I'll be watching for your posts when I come back.

Welcome to SR!! Many people here have been successful and are free from pill addiction (myself included). Check out the substance abuse area, too, as Dee has suggested. Lotsa good stuff in there as well! Here you will find all kinds of support.
