...but wait! It's not as bad as it sounds. Wedding rehearsal dinner for boyfriends sister is here...followed by wedding tomorrow. All alcohol all the time. I'm doing ok but since I dont have a sponsor yet I thought I'd check in here.
I'm feeling oddly content. Little awkward because everyone here knows my issue but I e finally surrendered and it feels damn empowering.
That's it.sorry for typos...on my phone.

Since you are doing so well in this potentially dangerous situation, I would tell you Congratulations! It looks to me like you accept the wisdom of remaining sober for today, maybe even tomorrow too. Keep being mindful by keeping an eye on yourself, be aware of how your surroundings may be affecting you, and go for Plan B if you get panicky or rattled. Plan B? Get yourself out of there. An hour of absence won't break the wedding, and it may be just what you need to get yourself sorted again if you need it.
My wife did wedding photography for a few years. She especially enjoyed the reception and party that followed. Enjoy watching people get sloshed and how they act (when you are sober), it can make a rather good argument for sobriety!

Good job!! Keep checking in here, and I like the idea of watching with amusement and being glad that isn't you. I am having a tough time tonight, so here I am on SR with an amazing group of people!!!
Niki, good idea to check in from your phone. I did that quite a bit when I was in drinking situations at the beginning-it really helped. Have a wonderful time at the wedding-you'll enjoy remembering the whole experience, not embarrassing yourself over anything, and not feeling sick the next morning.
