Binge Drinking Salesman
Hey All,
Today is the first day of a long road to recovery. I reached the point of having enough today, after another night of not remembering what the heck I was doing.
I remember at 18 drinking used to be fun, and currently it's more of a sport. I don't drink everyday, and I can go weeks without having a drink... But when I drink, it gets sloppy.
The tricky thing is,it doesn't get sloppy everytime, just most times. Being In sales, I unfortunately do a great Jon of convincing myself that I don't have a problem.
I've been sober before, for four months. Today I am going to an alcohol outpatient rehab center and meeting with a therapist. I'm tired of the extra "drama" that this one thing brings to my life. I'm tired. I'm tired of making a fool of myself, wasting money, finding my way to the casino when blacked out, and letting myself and loved ones D
Down.
Time and energy are finite things, it's time I use them the right way.

Hi Younggun,
I am in sales also and it's a profession that encourages alcohol consumption it seems. I wasted so much money, often ending up at strip joints and casinos and not remembering much the next day. Welcome to SR.

Thanks Jitter...that definitely rings a bell. It really is tough, especially because everyone I hang out with from work is also a binge drinker; it almost makes it seem normal.
It's sad, because I forget how it feels to be "wired" normally.
