102 days sober and loving life
Hi,
I'm new to recovery and soberrecovery. I've been sober for 102 days and am loving being sober and discovering that I can do so many things I didn't think I could do sober like ordering in a restaurant and holding a conversation. I've always drunk primarily for anxiety and I'm finding that alcohol was only making the anxiety worse. I'm currently in a rehab and am so grateful I've been given this opportunity. It's a therapeutic community but we are encouraged to try AA. I'm really struggling with AA but I'm going to go to a few more meetings before I decide whether it's for me.
It's really great to see so many people here at different stages of their journeys.

Welcome to SR and congratulations on your 102 days. That is fantastic, I hope you're so proud of yourself
There are many other methods you can use to aid your recovery and some can be found on this website. If AA is definitely not for you then there's nothing stopping you shopping around.
Wishing you all the best on your sober journey x

Congrats. Six months sober for me as of today and its all been done just one day at a time.
I have to say that its the meetings that have kept me away from that first drink and personally I think they are crucial. I never 'got' them either to start with but for me its more about being around other sober people. I know I am not strong enough on my own to beat my ism. Its as simple as that. But when I go to a meeting its as though I get stronger just by sitting there.
Dont listen. Just absorb.
