Suboxone?

Has anyone had a good experience with Suboxone?

I am going to see my doctor Monday about taking it. I thought it was to allow a person to stop medications without withdrawal symptoms, but what I've read here makes it sound like a dangerous drug.

I don't crave the morphine I take, but obviously I am dependent because when I've stopped taking it I lose all my energy and feel like a dead person. I've made it 3 1/2 days before I need to take it again.

I'd like to hear from anyone who was able to use the Suboxone, stop taking whatever narcotics they were using, and then get off the Suboxone without withdrawal symptoms. Has anybody had this positive experience?

Posted to your other reply as well. Suboxone will mask the withdrawal, but remember- you are just replacing one addictive opiod with a synthetic opiod. Suboxone is highly addictive, all those I know including myself have had a harder time getting off it than pain meds. If you can do an in-patient recovery because of your diabetes I would take that route, especially if your Dr starts talking "couple months" or a "year" of suboxone. Wish you the best, let us know how you do! Good people here, check in often- you will find it is therapeutic to post and read and know you aren't the only one struggling!
