Evenings are the worst!

I think the hours from 3-8 are hardest for me, and there are days I clock watch waiting for it to hit noon so I can have a drink! Happy to say Day 5 is nearing its completion alcohol free!! So hard this is! Church in the morning and more family time!!! On to day 6!

lilgolden73,
3-8 were my prime drinking hours too! After a while they get easier. I still get an anxious feeling around 2:30 but it is gone by the time I get home. Congrats on day 5 thats a huge accomplishment!

I am closing out day two and I agree it is hard. I keep reminding myself I felt great when I woke up this morning. I also did s race today and although I finished, if I had been sober I would have trained a lot better and probably wouldn't have felt the dehydration I did. For me 5-9 are the hardest hours, which is why I am on SR right now!!!!

Hang in there, it gets easier, I promise. I am almost at one year....by taking it one hour at a time on some days.

Keep busy, drink hot tea, post and read here.

Yep. Evenings are always hard for me. Especially the weekend evenings! Hang in there. Are you going to any AA meetings?

No but I want to find one! Scared of picking the wrong place and I find the different kind of meetings confusing!

You really can't go wrong with whatever AA meeting you choose. The program's primary purpose is to help newcomers like you. Any AA meeting should welcome you with open arms.

I did the same kind of stuff. I sat quietly in the back of the meeting rooms hoping no one would ever notice me. I would go to meetings further away from me too. I was a ghost in those rooms for a long while. Even when I did that I realize now that it helped me. I learned what AA and its program of recovery is about even if I wasn't involved at all yet.

I can't speak for you but I KNOW that I can't quit on my own. I've already tried on my own. In many different ways. I need help. So far, AA has helped me stay sober for over 50 days. I've never made it this far before.
