I'm happy to report.....
..that this Thursday will be 5 weeks since I have had a drink and my only intention is to raise that number higher.
I joined back in July after a particularly bad bender with the resolution that I was stopping, well we all know 5 weeks ago wasn't July but even though I had been lurking more than participating here, your stories and advice helped me and even though I continued to give in and drink, I still read your posts. Finally, one Thursday after reading one night, I decided to do something. I took vitamins, I kept busy, I resisted and keep resisting the urge but every day I don't drink I feel stronger and more resolved. I haven't been through a week without a hangover in I don't know how long, it feels great.
Thank you for all your wonderful posts. They have been immensely helpful.

Hey Lily,
5 Weeks on thurs
Nice to hear you're trying sobriety ..
If you're anything like me , standing firm for 3 months , 6 months or a year of sobriety will improve most areas of your life.
If bad things happen it's still better than being hungover and having bad things happen .
Bestwishes, M

Thank you! I like your advice, you're right - bad things do happen but I am definitely better equipped when I'm not all blue from hangover. I find myself already able to take things more in stride.
