As I posted before AS is in the county jail. I looked at him on-line and he is being held also for owing fines to three different towns for not paying court ordered fines. He doesn't have a penny. Do you know if he can serve jail time in lieu of paying the fines?

I don't know about your specific area, but my AS gets arrested periodically (bench warrants) for various things.....usually driving with a suspended license. He spends three days in jail and that's it. He's out and "fine" is considered paid.

Pommie, you should be able to call the jail/court to find out if that is an option.
If/when my son gets picked up he will also face three unpaid tickets that should be added to his "time tab".

In my area yes they will give jail time for unpaid fines.

Not worried, just looking for information. Jail stuff is new to me.
