Happy Being Sober!!!
I am 51 days sober today!! Yippie! Loving every minute of it! I do have one issue, and I don't really know how to deal with it! My husband drinks, he is not an alcoholic, and does not have a problem. The problem is, I am a bit resentful of him being able to just have one! I get annoyed with him when it comes to this, and I feel like I am being a bitch if I say something. Alcohol is my problem, not his? What should I do? Ask him to stop? Feedback, please!!
I think it's natural to feel that way Jochris. Of course it would be nice if he could refrain from drinking around you just to support you but chances are he doen't really get it. Have you spoken to him about it?
Well done on 51 days!!
Well done on 51 days!!
Hi JoChris
I found the more I liked my sober life, the less I worried about what other ppl were doing and whether they were drinking or not
I realised what a toxic relationship I had with alcohol.
I'm glad that relationship is over.
It took a little time for full acceptance to occur...but it did
I'm sure it will for you too

Thanks to you for sharing! I am really happy, and our marriage has never been better. I have talked to him about it, and he doesn't drink around me! I will definately pray for the ability to deal with it! One day at a time!
Over time I think you learn to accept that booze just does bad things for you, and you don't want to drink it anymore, and then it doesn't bother you that other people are drinking--that's them, you're you, that's just how things go. I try to be thankful for other people being able to enjoy their wine or their beer, instead of harboring envy or resentment.
