Drinking Dreams

I've been having alcohol or AA dreams every night since last Friday.

One was telling someone that I'm an alcoholic.
One was drinking a beer, and feeling guilty that I gave in again.
Last night was someone putting a shot in front of me, and me declining it.

Thankfully there haven't been any that I've been wasted in yet...

Do you guys have these? Do they go away?

I have had the second one you talked about, where I drink and have horrible guilt. It messed up my morning. BUT, I looked at it positive and thought, well the dream is just telling me how horrible I would feel if I ever did pick up a drink again, more confirmation on me NEVER drinking again. That is the only one I have had. The less you obsess about it, IMO, the less you will dream about it.

I am slowly realizing that I don't think about drinking all day anymore. I think about the next bottle of water from the freezer, or the zoo I get to go to this weekend not hungover. There are a million other things to occupy our minds.

I had a drinking dream a couple of weeks ago , dreamed i was drinking wine , had an almost instant blackout and then i was waking up with a bad hangover , itchy eyes , dry toung , bad head , all those old feelings , then i really woke up and was so relieved !

I asked a mate with over 25 years d&d free about it , he said he still gets them and they serve as a reminder of a kind .. certainly did'nt do me any harm in reminding me to stay sober .

Yeah I do. They seem to go in spurts though but I'm only 3 week in.

I think nearly everyone has them Skip.

I don't assign any deep meaning to them - there's just memory bubbles of something I used to do a lot, or something that was still on my mind a lot in the early days...

they do fade

Thanks. They are more annoying than anything. It would be nice to get away from the voice in my head when I'm sleeping at the very least!!
