Alcoholics Anonymous is one of the 88 books that shaped America, as per the library of congress. Here is a bit more on the honors.

Also interesting to note that while Jack London’s "John Barleycorn" did not make the list, his "Call of the Wild” did.

If anyone travles to D.C. I suggest making time to bisit the
Library of Congress....all sorts of interesting and historical
things are stored there...

The building itself is worthy of a stop over...
yes...do plan to go inside....
