Warning: Absurdly positive results from Sobriety!
Hi all.
I'll make this brief. I've been sober since March 28, 2012 and since then I have evolved more than I have in the past 4 years. I have lost 9kg and counting, I have ended a codependent relationship with my dignity intact, I have gained creative clarity and ambition for the future in my career, I have started painting again, learning piano, dancing and run 12 km a day - all with a smile on my face and boundless energy for my young daughter.
Some days I cry my heart out for the past, but I always go to bed now looking forward to jumping out of bed, getting my daughter ready for school and lacing up my running shoes.
Life is more beautiful than I ever could have imagined it. I'm 28 and nothing is going to knock me off course for the next decade and beyond, not weakness, not bad habits, and definitely not alcohol.
If you are just starting out on this road of sobriety - keep going - there is so much to look forward to, and sooner than you realize - life comes back with open arms.
All my best wishes to all of you at SR!!!

Awesome post and pysched to hear you are rocking life!! Good for you!!! I am sober 33 days and single 5 days after having a 4 year co-dependent relationship ended (not my choice but I know it's for the best). It hurts bad but sobriety has given me hope, evergy, friends, support, and most importantly ... a plan!
It feels good to have some direction, albeit a small light at the end of the tunnel.
Your post inspired me and lifted me up today!! Thank you!!

And it's never too late!!! I'm 63....drank for 12 years....sober almost 2 months. Already I'm experiencing the benefits such as yours. I've taken my art supplies out of storage! Good on you!!
