Do kids think oxy is less of a problem than it is?
This past weekend I was at a bar with my husband. There were hoards of college-aged kids there drinking and enjoying the band/singer. The singer was an old guy who was kind of raunchy and kept making remarks about drinking and feeling good when the oxycontin kicks in. I was appalled. I'm getting the impression that mainstream kids seem to think that pills are fine for recreation. It is really scary.

It is scary, I'm only 21 but I think drugs are TERRIFYING. I'm in the UK and oxys etc aren't big here, cocaine is huge huge huge though, you literally can't set foot into a bar without being offered it. It's insane, kids are taking it at school, 13 year olds are using it on street corners. Horrifying.
Unfortunately, one cannot fix stupid, glorifying any drug to anyone is just plain stupid, let alone kids.
Drug use is scary and is taking us... as... a society down, one pill, one puff, one injection at a time.

When I was in Vegas a few months ago, there were a group of college aged kids eating nearby. I overheard them talking about oxys and divvying them out at the food court. My son indicated "everyone smokes weed" and "everyone does pills".
I abhor opiates and weed is a gateway drug, being a former pot smoker when I was young it definitely led to many other drugs. luckily there were no perscription pill mills when I was experimenting with drugs.

I would say yes kids think almost everything is less of a problem they think "IT" happens to other people but can't happen to them I remember a few years ago teens and early 20's thought oral sex was not sex.. Hello??? Only now do my kids get that it is a form of sex.
