moving on. literally!
moving on. literally!
Hi SRers! My husband and i made it through the move (45 minutes south into Milwaukee). Let's just say i almost, ALMOST regretted being sober when we were transporting 4 yowling cats in carriers to the new place. ^_^ This move was way different than the last move i made. During my last move, i was wasted, scared mad and generally a paranoid mess. I was moving from Alabama to Wisconsin and i barely remember any of the packing and moving stuff onto the truck. I do remember climbing 30 feet up a magnoila tree in a drunken fit to the horror of my mother...
this time i was on Day 87, most of my stuff was packed ahead of time (still a few little things at the old place) i was cool, calm and actually plesant to be around. No crying, no yelling, no tree climbing. And i was happy. Honestly, deeply happy. When my heart beats fast it's excitement, not fear. If i get a little teary eyed it's because of the joy of a new adventure, not because i'm being torn out of my safe, sick den of alcoholism. This move isn't just a relocation of stuff. Day 90 is tomorrow so i'm putting my best foot forward and moving on into my new sober life.

Super Congrats Grits!
Good luck in your new place!
I wish you peace & tranquility as you continue your sober journey!
That is a monumental moment. You can close that chapter of your life & begin writing a brand new happy ending.

That post made me feel so happy.
I just love to hear from people who have had their struggles along with the rest of us do something really well. It gives us all hope.
Many congratulations on your 90 days!
Big hugs xx
