To further reference out the quote above, what it tells us is that we all may have varied ideals, ideas about, opinions, thoughts, attitudes etc. toward institutions such as marriage and what place/purpose sexual relations have in our lives. The key is to review if our beliefs about these things in any way tie back to self-serving motives or selfish thinking. We may fall short of our own ideals, but if a self-serving motive is involved, could be a huge red flag for us here.
