Not really. I'm not really a group discussion type of person.

No. I think the wd's will be mild it was only a short 2 day binge. 6 OP 80's over the course. I nipped it off at the bud before I went haywire.

There are other types of help which don't require group discussion. Have you heard of AVRT? Whatever help you need I'm sure you'll find lots of ideas here x

That's cool...As long as you are safe. What about trying NA?...Getting some face to face support from recovering addicts? Have you tried that before?

Oh...I see you don't like group support....That's too bad. I had to do some things I didn't like to do...But I haven't drank in 10 months after 35 years of daily drinking. At least you know it's there if you really need it. Best of luck to you.

Day 4 so far so good. Feel better today than I have in over a week. Gotta keep myself busy and focused on positive things and the things I love like music my garden which is not even close to being planted yet, my dogs, and of course my beautiful wife.

Been reading many of the threads in the Friends and Family of addicts section. It saddens me and breaks my heart to see what the families are going through and to know that MY family is dealing with the same crap because of me in many ways. Mostly my wife tbh. I keep my drug use away from family. I stopped drinking 5 or so years ago due to the strain it put on the relationships with my siblings. I am finally building a relationship with my brother his wife and three awesome children in fact I coach his 6 year old in little league. I do not want to lose any of this. Sorry for the babbling it seems getting some of this off my chest really lightens my mood tremendously. I am really digging this site a lot. I have learned so much in a couple of days.

Hi Godzilla, glad to hear you had another clean day, and that it feels GOOD!

Realizing we have more going for us clean than we do using is a huge step.

Same was true for me. I was definitely a "group support" person - LOL. I thought anyone who was, was about the worlds most pitiful loser imaginable - and my thoughts went downhill from there.

Like Sapling said though, I had to get to the point where my life, living it the way I was living it (which doesn't necessarily mean JUST when I'm drinking) wasn't all that great. So if doing what I like, what I want to, and what I think is best.................landed me here............then maybe what I like, think is best and want isn't so great after all and MAYBE I'm going to have to do some things I don't want, like want to do or think is best to get all that stuff that I REALLY always was chasing.

Godzilla, I hope that makes sense.

This site is a godsend for a person like me that doesn't venture far from home on many days.

How about things you don't even think will work?...That was another hurdle I had to get over....Then the craziest thing happens...It actually works. I think that's where the building of faith starts to happen.

You have nothing to be sorry for....This is a great place to dump that stuff...We've all been there....It's not babbling to us. It's reality.

Congrats on day 4! I know what you mean about this place being a godsend.... I'm glad you're starting to feel better - that's really great for day 4.

I really took it easy for a week or two (and spent tons of time on here). Just being patient with yourself is important, I think.... just accepting today for what it is and knowing that all of it - the good days and the bad - are a part of healing. Keep up the good work!
