90 days and some reflections

Today is day 90 for me, yay! I thought I'd make a list of all the positive things sobriety has brought me so maybe a newcomer can see some light at the end of the tunnel.

~ My heart beats normally, no pounding or racing
~ I sleep good
~ I wake up feeling very good, no self loathing, no feelings of dread and shame
~ I walk an hour after work almost every day, my legs don't feel heavy
~ I've lost 32 lbs, not in just 3 months, but cutting out all those extra calories made a big difference
~ My teeth don't ache all the time
~ I smell good
~ I stopped snoring, my husband can actually sleep in his own bed
~ I sing better
~ I have more money
~ I remember my conversations with my husband and kids
~ I don't lose my temper
~ I'm not sneaky, what a relief not to have to hide my wine behind stuff in the refrigerator
~ I manage my job, my small business, this crazy household, cooking, cleaning, etc with cheer
~ my family is proud of me
~ I'm the person I want to be

I bet even newcomers could add to this list and it just gets better all the time. But the best thing is that I have more time now. My life feels longer and that really is amazing to me!!

Thanks to SR, all the administrators, and my SR friends and classmates for the help and support you have given me.

Keep coming back, it gets better still.

A friend recently celebrated 40 yrs sober and said that she learned more in the last 10 yrs than the first 30 yrs.

All the best.
