Hello Marjorie, Welcome to SR! I'm so sorry to hear about your son. My stepson is who sent me searching for information that led me here.
I hope you will stick around, read as many threads as you can, and learn everything you can about addiction.
Welcome, again! HG

Hi Marjorie and welcome to SR,
You sound lost, but you are reaching out now to SR, to people who know how you feel and have been where you are. This will be a good thing - I promise you.
As no one has mentioned it yet, I will suggest that you find yourself an Al-anon meeting in your area. I had never heard of Al-anon when someone first mentioned it to me but it has saved me and my life. I am no longer lost and living a happy life. Al-anon is similar to AA but it is for friends and families of alcoholics. I have a couple of mums of alcholic sons in my group, although you can learn a lot from just about everyone who ever has to deal with a loved ones drinking and negative behaviours.
Keep reaching out.

My son doe"snt live with Me I moved to Virginia a Choice I made because it was good for me. My sons were both grown and off doing what they wanted and only came home when they needed me or just to crash and then be off again.
I miss them so much and sometimes the guilt of not being there is awful.
I hope to make a trip to see them soon and I can not wait..♥
