Ill try and be here for you.....Tell some of your Story so we can Help.
You will need Supervision by a Good GP.
Dont forget that Benzos are Harder to Kick than opiates.
So dont depend on them too much....Taper off them with the Help of your GP.

You will need to go to NA ,and Councilling could help you as well.
My story is in the Stories Section.....I wish you the Best

Hi , welcome, I came off benzos, it's hard but very doable.

I'm two in a half years off. I'm so glad I'm off them.

Thanks to all of the well wishers. Should I post my story here or on a different forum.

Basically I have been on benzos 7 years. Started at about a half to a full one each day. I stayed this way for years. Then I found hydrocodone. It replaced the benzos but I was spending way too much money on them and putting myself in compromising situation (mostly bought off the streets). After I spent $800 in a week I got help. Oh yeah, I'm an attorney with three kids under 10. So I was totally living a double life. A doc put me on subutex. I immediately went to 2 mgs. One day I just jumped off. It was the worst 30 days of my life. That was a year ago. What did I replace opiates with? 7 or 8 xannax a day. The xannax quit working and I felt like I was having a breakdown. I came clean to the wife and my family and here I am. The docs really want me to go to rehab but I am going to try this first. I took 3 xannies today and I don't feel much different than taking 8 but I know it gets worse. Three days after subs I thought it was over. At least I do not have to hide my emotions. My kids need a sober dad and that is my motivation. LOve to all of you.

I tapered of my Benzos over a period of time....I attended a Doctor while doing this.
He was very understanding.....It was not easy.
If I had to do it again I would advise myself to Attend ACA.
I have descovered that most of my Fears/Anxieties/problems were rooted in my Past and Family of Origon.

If you read the ACA Problem, and Traits...It might Trigger Something in you.
Its worth a try.........

Glad to hear that.......You now know where all this Addictiveness is coming from.

You are one of the lucky ones,.............Some never find this out about them selves.

Can you get to ACA where you are living.....If not Keep coming back here.

If you can afford it Get The Big Red Book of ACA.....You can order it on line.

Quitting benzos

Hi. I am new here too.

I know how hard it is to get off benzos. I've been on them for 15 years. Xanax & Klonopin. I crossed over to Valium using the Ashton Manual. I've been tapering with this method for over a year with the help of a doctor. I have 2.5mg left to kick. It is pure hell but better than quitting cold turkey. I did that with Xanax and ended up in the ER.
