As I have mentioned before, I only drank from between 6-8 weeks, maybe a half a bottle of whisky a day after my girlfriend broke up with me. However, I know I have being doing a lot of complaining on this forum for a number of weeks, but my doctor has said that I have alcohol brain damage, which has destroyed my memory and many other cognitive processes; there is little chance of ANY recovery.
How can this happen, after just a few weeks? My life feel ruined, I can't think anymore, relate to people because I can't remember any experiences with them, I feel lost and finished.
Anyone heard of alcohol related brain damage or got any experiences?

I think I would be asking for a second opinion from a doctor/specialist who has experience in treating addiction disorders. I'm no doctor but PAWS, depression, anxiety etc can cause cognitive problems too, wouldn't hurt to get other factors ruled out if it is affecting you as it obviously is. I'm not sure of your history prior to the last two months but you don't have to be drinking at the deep end of the scale to develop a dependence on alcohol and have complications from quitting.
