Thanks to quitting I now have a place called home!
It's been 44 days of being sober, and this weekend I had an energy boost from somewhere and I TOTALLY sorted out my apartment:
I chucked stuff out
I fixed shelves
I re-arranged furniture
I fixed lights
I built storage
I put pictures up
I bought some plants
I put some blinds up
I cleaned
I scrubbed...
...by Sunday night I felt like I could have slept for a whole month, but I dragged myself to work this cold morning and got back into my job. But when I came home tonight it was lovely, now I have a home to live in, so much more space and somewhere to feel proud of and nice to invite people over.
This would NEVER have happened had I not quit booze!
Just needed to share this with you;-)

Good job! I wish I had that burst of energy. I'm still recovering emotionally. Just taking one day at a time. I know I have lots to do that I've put off for ages b/c of booze. But it causes anxiety to think of it all. I just concentrate on me & staying sober. The rest will sort itself out eventually.
I'll be round soon Paper Dolls!
Purple: Thank you, and keep taking one day at a time, we all do it differently. I had to keep busy to keep my mind off the booze and the home improvements certainly helped me. You only need do one thing and like you say, that is stopping drinking and when you do get an energy burst do something useful with it; that's my advice for the day anyway!
Well done all of you;-)

Congrats Marius and I urge others to look into doing the same. I have totally revamped my place since getting sober and OMG its so much nicer to hang out here now. Its actually presentable now and looking cool and modern.
Its a great pick-me-upper

Thanks to all of you for your support! It's nice to post something so positive once in a while; really hits home how much better life is without the drink... now I must go, I have spotted some fluff on the floor :-)
