First AA Meeting Today

Very fortunate to have one of my oldest closest friends be an alcoholic...I know that came out wrong, but he brought me to my first meeting today. Too soon to tell, but I'll give it another spin next week.

2 Very Profound Things He Said To Me Today:
a) 10 years sober, still goes to newcomer meetings. He said, what if somebody new shows up, and nobody is there to listen....wow
b) I love hearing the newbies. They are so raw, so fresh, so confused, so all over the map. It serves as a daily reminder of where I don't want to find myself again. Double Wow.

Way to go ML...I try to go to my HG 5 or 6 days a week. I went my first six months without missing a day. I wanted this bad. But my homegroup is right down the street from a homeless shelter...A constant flow of newcomers...Some get it...Some don't. But it keeps me green.....I learn from all of them. Glad you found yourself a guide...Sounds like a good one.
