Hello Needsassistance, I am glad you are here. I am only 13 days sober myself so I can relate. There are many good people here that will share with you and help you the best they can. aAre you afraid of detoxing? Not everyone does but if you do you may want to seek medical help. It can be dangerous if you become really ill. Have you quit before?

Hi Finway. No no fear of detox, I generally don't drink everyday, or every week for that matter. But when I do, it's usually bad.. Blackouts, spend money like an idiot at bars, etc. I drink when I'm lonely and I travel a bit for work, so the traps for me are when I'm on the road and my wife isn't watching me, etc...I'm afraid that I won't be successful , and I really need to be, hated myself again this am and I need to repair my behavior immediately

I have been there, It is hard when we disappoint ourselves. No one can let us down worse the we ourselves can. I am glad you will not have to deal with detoxing, that can be rough. I used to drink differently through out may drunken career, some times steady and sometimes binging. If you hang with us when you can you will receive many helpful suggestions and be in good company. Just take it one day at a time and try yo stay away from hot spots.
If you have to travel it may help to plan your trip so you had access to us or a meeting or a phone number or something.
