Hi Karilynn,
Did you eat much prior to quitting drinking,
I'd be interested to know the answer to your question too, only day 3 here, I have zero appetite, but i only really ate one meal a day when i was drinking, so it could be that i just need time
great work on 1 month!

It's very hard to define normal, I think.
I didn't have much appetite sometimes after getting sober, and then other times I was ravenous. I was always back at 'normal' levels by a month tho?
If you're concerned why not see a Dr?

I agree with Dee, see a Doctor if there are bigger concerns.
But I know in my first two months of being sober recently my appetite was all over the place. Ate like a pig one week, a grasshopper the next.
I think it's all the sugar in most alcoholic beverages... it takes a bit for your body to normalize from the ups and downs of consuming that much sugar.

First of all, there are no stupid questions here! Second, I had that experience for about a week or two myself and then it kind of went away. I also find that when Im sick with a cold or flu of any sort that I have no appetite either so i think the two may be related somehow.
My sugar was constantly screwed up. I hated sweets and now enjoy the occasional cookie which is new. My daughter made me a french silk cappuccino pie last night cause a long time ago I used to love chocolate. I'm picking it up today. She says it loaded with calories:rotfxko
eat 'easy' foods: soup, toast, and such. it might take a while for your appetite to improve but if you're still not hungry after another month or so, please see a doctor. you've got to take care of yourself, ya know. :ghug3
At 3 months in my appetite has been all over the map. While going through some PAWS symptoms I hardly ate at all for a few weeks. This past week I can't seem to eat enough!
If it persists and you're concerned, then it wouldn't hurt to check in with your doctor. Maybe consider taking some multivitamins in the mean time so that you can ensure you're getting some basic nutrition?

My appetite has also slowed down. I always ate too much and/or too late in the evening after drinking. I have a weird thing about not wanting meat, especially for the first two weeks. I am on day 16. Yesterday and today I finally ate a little bit of baked chicken. Up until now its been oatmeal, bananas, soup and veggie burgers. I feel great! I don't crave the sweets like I thought I would. Just try to eat healthy to help you get better and see a doctor for your concerns. I found out the doctor loves it when they hear someone has stopped drinking... Be good to yourself and have a great day!
All the same advice I would wisely give someone, just realized I'm a little dense when it comes to taking care of me. Am currently in bed Watching tv cause I need to take it easy. Bath and laundry day for granny tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me to take care of myself.
