Day 14 and feeling good

Hello, this is just a bit about me becoming sober so I apologise now if it's boring, I just want to share my experience.

The first sober day I thought I was dying and was very frightened, I didn't think I drank enough for get withdrawals so I've convinced myself I'm being petty and the hospital would laugh at me if I went there. So I stayed at home, throwing up violently every few minutes and shaking so bad, also getting hot and then cold. I'd only drunk half a litre of vodka and a bottle of wine so was unsure as to why I felt so bad as I usually drank this amount. I was sick and shaky until the 3rd day.

After that I was just heaving when I ate and drank anything for about 8 days in, still felt horrible in the mornings and very groggy and sad, depressed, anxious. I think it was around day 9 or 10 when I got some energy, don't get me wrong, I still felt rubbish and I'd caught a bug but for the first time in a long while I wanted to exercise so I went for a run. It was only a 5 min run and I was shatterd but I was so pleased with myself.

I've been for a run everyday since and today (day 14) is the first time I've woken up feeling happy. I've not had this feeling since I met my fiance roughly 3 or 4 years ago and I want this feeling to stay. When I'm craving (and I have had lots of mental cravings recently) I will remind myself of the natural high I had on day 14 and tell myself I will have other days like this.

Thank you for reading and hopefully it wasn't too boring.
