Feeling guilty about not going to AA Marathon...

Hi everyone..

Happy Almost New Year!

I don't know why, maybe because I am still detoxing, but I am so tired and headachey today. I have 7 days sober (again) , so my sponsor thinks that's what it could be.

Anyway, I told my sponsor I would see her at the marathon tonight, but I am really not feeling up to it. I have no desire to drink, and I know I am not going to. I just feel like stopping by my mom's house for a little while, then coming home and cuddling up on the couch with my dog and watching a movie.

I called my sponsor and told her I wasn't feeling up to it. She told me to try to go, even for a little while. I know if would be great for me to go, but I am just so tired and want to relax. I don't really have the energy to get ready.

Why do I feel so guilty over this? I really feel bad for not feeling up to going.

If you want this bad enough...The dog and the movie will wait...Whenever I don't want to go to a meeting...That's when I know I have to go....Problem solved...I got to the point I really like to go to meetings...It's good medicine for me. I agree with sugar...A little step work never hurts. That's what the program is all about. Hang in there....And keep trudging.

I have heard it said that there are two situations when you should go to a meeting, when you feel like going, and when you don't. When I don't want to go but force myself to, I usually end up hearing something I needed to hear.
God bless.

I forced myself to go, ..I'm very glad I did

I stayed for a bit..listened to a meeting, saw my sponsor, and bought one of the books I needed.

I socialized for a bit, and it did feel good. My sponsor pushed me, and I'm really happy she did.
