i spoke my mind and it worked!

I'm on a trip with my family in Florida to see my grandparents. I live in Wisconsin, my parents in Alabama. We drove 10 hours (parents, sister and myself) in a Civic. I got a little irritable but held it together like a champ. Today, I was ready to leave in an hour, shower and all. I was really excited to see my grandparents who I only get to see once or twice a year. Instead of leaving in a timely manner my sisyer takes oner 2 hours to shower, dress and pjt her pancake makeup on. Skip ahead, it's 2:30. Mom make the executive decision that instead of going back to the hotel, we'll get dressed for dinner now. I am fuming. Mom tries to talk to me and I just told her that I am not a plesant person to be around and i'll stay in the lobby to cool off. Damnit, it worked! I got it out of my system and was able to enjoy the evening. Sometimes speaking up for yourself works!

Yay, for you!

Learning to do what you need to do for yourself is a huge step. I had to let go of the 'should haves' and 'musts' and find a way to listen to me.
